Building Community

I believe that talking openly about death and dying can help us live more fully and intentionally. Death is the event that is certain to happen to every single one of us, yet we have difficulty talking about it, and we put off planning for it. I imagine spaces where people gather to have supportive, courageous conversations about what matters most. When we shift away from framing death solely as a medical event, we can begin to see it as a deeply human and social one. With this in mind, I welcome collaborations and invitations to foster connection and community. Some of the spaces I envision include:

  • Death cafés and facilitated conversation gatherings

  • Caregiver support circles for those caring for aging or ill loved-ones

  • Gatherings for solo agers navigating life independently

  • Talks on living well in the face of a life-limiting illness

These are a few starting points to generate ideas from which something good can grow :)
